Claudia Araujo has worked as a fashion and design photographer since the 1990s and specializes in modern portraiture.

Born in Brazil, Araujo began her study of photography learning the classical techniques at various studios . Her first published photographs appeared in O Globo, a major daily newspaper based in Rio de Janeiro. While honing her skills, she worked with numerous actors, musicians, designers and labels. In 1996, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro put her in charge of its photo lab. During the twenty years she held that position, she taught fashion and still life photography and supervised a multitude of projects. Today, she combines her extensive knowledge of analogue photography with the possibilities of the digital age.

Claudia Araujo currently lives in Berlin, where she works as a freelance commercial photographer.

Claudia Araujo widmet sich seit den 90er Jahren der Mode- und Design-Fotografie und hat sich insbesondere im Bereich Zeitgenössisches Portrait spezialisiert.

Geboren in Brasilien erlernte sie zunächst in verschiedenen Fotolabors das klassische Handwerk. Ihre ersten Fotos erschienen in der Tageszeitung „Globo“, außerdem arbeitete sie mit zahlreichen Schauspielern, Musikern, Designern und Markenherstellern zusammen. 1996 übertrug ihr die Päpstliche Katholische Universität von Rio de Janeiro die Verantwortung für ihr Foto-Labor. In den 20 Jahren ihrer Leitung unterrichtete sie Mode- und Still-Fotografie und begleitete diverse Foto-Projekte. Ihr umfassendes Wissen zur Analog-Fotografie und chemischen Prozessen verknüpft sie heute mit den Möglichkeiten des digitalen Zeitalters.

Claudia Araujo lebt derzeit in Berlin und arbeitet als freie Fotografin für Firmen aus Europa und Brasilien.
