The National Institute of Structural Biology and Bioimaging (INBEB) is a research network aimed at studying the molecular, cellular, and physiological bases of various diseases and their respective pathogens, focusing on a structural and functional approach from macromolecules to cells and tissues. In this way, INBEB promotes the establishment of bridges between basic research and clinical applications.
The institute consists of 20 associated laboratories (LAs), distributed across 22 research and educational institutions throughout the country. Together, these LAs bring together more than a hundred researchers, as well as postdoctoral fellows and students at the doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate levels.
INBEB values the training of new researchers in excellent graduate programs. It also has a program of educational activities and scientific dissemination aimed at non-academic audiences.
Its headquarters are located at the National Center for Structural Biology and Bioimaging (CENABIO), at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
